Gak (slime) - how to make

What you need:

Glue - 5 or 6 tbsps
Liquid detergent - 20 ml
Water - 2 tbsps
Food colours of your choice

How to make:

The estimates are a guestimate. You could add more or less to get the consistency required.

In a bowl add glue. Mix in the food colour with a spoon.
Add the water and mix in well.
Next add the liquid detergent and mix well with hand until slimy. Could pour away the excess water that stays in the bowl.

As the slime would be watery, leave it to dry for a while.
Gak is ready for playing.

Glitter - how to make

Here's a simple homemade version of glitter which we use in craft work

Ingredients:

Epsom salt
Food colouring

How to make:

In a re-sealable bag add some Epsom salt and add few drops of food colouring.
The more the drops the more brighter the gitter colour would be.
Close the bag and squish the contents till the colour is spread across the salt.
Leave it to dry overnight and till the salts get dried and your colourful glitter is ready for your kids to play

House on a hilltop - how to make

When your kid asks you to build a house, check this page for an easy idea on how to build a house on a hilltop

What you need?

An ice cream box or any square box
Colourful papers
Sticky tape
Scissors
Green bowl

How to make?

First cover the ice cream box with colour papers for the walls
Bend a colour paper and then stick it up on to the top of the box as a roof
Cut out some windows and doors and stick them
Place the house on top of a green bowl for the hilltop
Draw some flowers, cut it out and stick to the bowl
There your house on hill top is ready quickly.

Instead of the green bowl, you can also use a cereal box covered with green colour paper for the grass and make a house on a garden as below.

For an apple tree in your garden, use a toilet roll. Draw some green leaves with apples in it, cut it  out and stick to the top of the toilet roll. Cut some slits on the bottom of the toilet roll and squash it and stick it to the garden as roots.

Hope you enjoyed the post and have fun making one!

What Keith says..

Keith bought some new colour pens. He separated them into three groups, one group of dark colour pens, second group of light colour pens and a third group of medium colour pens.

Keith: Pointing to the light colour pens, asks what are these colour called?
Me: Light colours

Keith: Points to the dark colour pens, asks what are these colour called?
Me: Dark colours

Keith: Points to the medium colour pens and asks what are these colours called?
Me: Normal colours
Keith: No they are Evening colours. The light colours are meant to be used in the morning time, the dark colours in the night time and these colours are for the evening.
